You just completed STEP 1 towards getting a biotech job that you’ll love! You just proved to yourself that you are willing to put in the extra effort to enhance your job search and application skills. You also proved that you understand you don’t have to do this all alone, and I’m so glad you chose to let me be a part of your journey.
After 10 years in the biotech industry, I’ve been contacted innumerable times by students from my alma mater asking for advice on their job search. I’ve learned so much during my job seeking experiences and now that I’ve helped hire people I have a completely different perspective on the process too. I was terrified of networking, I wasted days applying to dozens of jobs that I didn’t even really want, and I quickly learned that what school teaches you is very different from what you need in industry. If you want to learn more about me, head over to My Story!
If you follow this series of posts, I’ll be walking you through the entire process from finding a job to actually being hired. My goal is to help guide you in a more personalized approach because I truly feel that is something that is lacking out in the job market. There’s no reason you should feel like just another number. BECAUSE YOU AREN’T!
Now let’s take a closer look at what we’ll be learning about. I’ve included links to each section below, but I strongly encourage you to go through the steps in order. In each, we’ll be building on the things we learned in the steps before, which can be very powerful and will help you stand out among the other candidates who aren’t putting in as much effort and care as you.

Before we jump into STEP 2, I’d like to invite you to subscribe to the How To Get A Job In Biotech email list (it’s free!). Joining this email list will allow me to help you more personally and avoid that “just another biotech graduate” feeling! I’ll include a 1-minute survey in my welcome email, which let’s me learn a little more about you so I can avoid sending you those useless wastes of time that aren’t relevant to you. I absolutely hate useless emails that spam my account every day, so that’s not the kind of thing I want to do to you either. If that does happen, I want you to reply and YELL AT ME IN ALL CAPS. My goal is for everything I send to actually be useful to you in your job search and for it to be something that you want to read.
